we are the English ministry of Choong Hyun Mission Church located in
southern California, northwest of Los Angeles. Choong Hyun English
Ministry (CHEM) began almost two decades ago obedient to God's calling for a
ministry to empower the next generation of believers.
:: we
are part of Korean American Presbyterian Church denomination reformed in
our theology and biblical in our message. our distinctive
statement of faith is as follows:
1. We
believe that there is one God who is eternal and self-existing in three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
2. We
believe that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man, conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified to become a sacrifice
satisfying the just attribute of God for the sins of mankind. Then he
rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, now sits on the right hand of
God the Father.
3. We
believe that the Holy Spirit’s role is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by
convicting men, regenerating the believing sinner, and indwell, guide,
instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
4. We
believe that the Scriptures, in its entirety is inspired and inerrant Word
of God, infallible rule of faith and practice, and the only revelation of
God’s will for the salvation of mankind.
5. We
believe that all mankind participated in Adam’s fall from his original
sinless state and is lost in sin and totally helpless.
6. We
believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide
the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe.
7. We
believe that those sinners whom the Holy Spirit quickens come to believe
in Christ as Savior by the Word of God, are born again, become sons of
God, and will persevere to the end.
8. We
believe that the goal of God’s salvation in the life of the Christian is
holiness, good works, and service for the glory of God.
9. We
believe that Baptism of water is a sign of God's covenant not the means of
salvation and is properly administered to children of believers in their
infancy as well as to those who come as adults to trust in Christ.
10. We
believe in the proper administration of the Lord’s Supper, which is an
ordinance to be observed and commemorated by the church in present age.
11. We
believe that the church is composed of all people who through saving faith
in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united
together in the Body of Christ.
12. We
believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that
every local church must be submissive to this order.
13. We
believe that at physical death the Christian's soul passes immediately
into the presence of God and the unbeliever's soul is eternally separated
from God unto condemnation.
14. We
believe that Jesus Christ will return to earth, visibly and bodily, at a
time when He is not expected, to consummate history and the eternal plan
of God.
15. We
believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to
everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to
judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
